Glenn Howard

Infamous Cybersecurity Guru

Glenn Howard is the Senior Product Manager and DevSecOps Engineer with Omni Federal in San Antonio, Texas. He works closely with clients to identify capabilities and develop product requirements and use cases that clearly communicate the product and opportunity to mission stakeholders and partners closely with engineers during the development process to provide input and guidance on the priority of features, ensure the voice of the customer is incorporated into product design and provide input on features & implementation, tradeoffs between schedules, scope and cost of products to the DoD cyber-warfighter.

He was previously the Technical Program Manager with Accenture Federal Services – National Security Portfolio (Formerly, Novetta), where he engineered & deployed cloud infrastructure and services, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and followed relevant IT project management and engineering life-cycle processes.

He also designs and builds features for implementation in production systems and operational employment using technologies like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker. He proactively resolves technical hurdles, and continues innovative efforts within Agile SAFe development practices and collaborates with other team members to decompose large tasks into small testable tasks.

Glenn was previously a Cybersecurity Range Engineer with IPSecure inc and provided expert-level support in the reviewing, planning, coordination, execution, reporting, and closeout of projects of special interest to the Air Force and the Joint Operational test community within the DoD.

He is also a retired Air Force veteran who served in various leadership roles at the squadron, detachment, brigade, joint special operations, and numbered Air Force levels. He holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity & Penetration Testing and the following professional certifications: CISSP, RHCSA, CNSSI, AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Joint Cyber Training Environment (JCTE) Engineer.

Glenn is also an adjunct professor of Cybersecurity with ThriveDX, and Saint Mary’s University, where he instructs & mentors students on Cybersecurity concepts including Cloud-Security, Network-Security, Linux-Security, Windows Security, and More.

Glenn was elected to be the 2022 President of the San Antonio Chapter of ISC(2) which supports thousands of cybersecurity and IT practitioners in one of the largest cyber-hubs 2nd only in Washington DC. The Alamo Chapter was recently selected as the ISC2 Global Achievement Award Winner for 2022 as the best Professional Chapter in North America!

He has an extensive background in IT, DevOps, cybersecurity, national-level intelligence, and cyber operations and has conducted offensive and defensive cyber operations around the world.
